Due north of Sydney by about 150-200 kms are two popular foodie and tourist destination areas: North Coast and the Hunter Valley. These regions encompass as diverse diversions as surf beaches, vineyards, massive sand dunes, ancient rainforests and caves, and World Heritage wilderness.

The Hunter Valley is Australia’s oldest wine region is known for varietals such as Semillon and Shiraz.

However, this fertile valley is also home to providores of beef, cheeses, chutneys, chocolates, grapes, aromatic oils, olives, and honey.

The bushlands of Wollemi and Barrington Tops National Parks contain ancient rainforests, while elsewhere in the area pristine volcanic hinterland can be explored.
