Andrew got into the SRL business because he loves being outdoors. He limited the size of his boat and the number of pots he is licensed for, so he only has to go out to sea for 1-3 days at a time from Margate, his home port on the southern coast of Tasmania.
This is a family business – Andrew usually fishes by himself and sometimes with one of his kids. His focus on the catch is for both quality and redness of the lobster shell.
